Aspiro owned advox launches wireless mail service Receive all your e-mail messages in your mobile phone; Swedish Advox launches Active WAP/WebMail at CeBIT on the 24st of February. Active WAP/WebMail is a scalable and reliable WAP and web e-mail based server with true mobile access. Advox has previously developed a web based e-mail server. This product has been further enhanced by the development of a WAP interface, which allows regular e-mail to be accessed through WAP. Hence, it is now possible to write and send e-mail using your WAP phone. True mobile e-mail With the introduction of Active WAP/WebMail, mobile access to e-mail takes on a new meaning. It is now possible to access e-mails from: - the office via the ordinary e-mail client, - the lap top or palm pilot computer, - a computer connected to Internet via web-mail and - a WAP telephone. Major order Advox has already signed an agreement with the Malaysian Telecom company Messaging Technologies SDN Bhd for the Active WAP/WebMail, which has capacity for several million users. The first installation will start running during February, and will make the Malaysian GSM operator Cellcom and the Internet supplier Mimos able to provide their customers with e- mail using WAP technology. "On our part it is really interesting to sign a cross agreement between GSM and Internet operators as both are natural collaborators for us.
