Aspiro has signed an agreement with Swedish operator Halebop to launch its mobile chat-service "ChatUnited" at Halebop.se.

Aspiro, that supplies mobile entertainment services and games, has signed an agreement with Swedish Halebop to launch "ChatUnited" at Halebop’s mobile portal. The agreement initially runs for six months and is built upon a revenue share model. Today, Halebop.se is Sweden’s largest mobile portal with members regularly down-loading services from the site to their mobile phones. Halebop offers an extensive selection of mobile services, mainly within the entertainment sector, such as ring signals, icons and games. Aspiro’s ChatUnited is a mobile service where the users are chatting with each other either via the mobile phone or the Internet. ChatUnited is operator independent, making it possible for everybody to chat with everybody independently of which operator one subscribes at or which cash card one uses. On the Swedish market, Comviq and Mobilehits have already launched the service, making it one of the largest mobile communities in Sweden with thousands of visitors every day. "ChatUnited suits our customers perfectly. It is entertaining, has an excellent design and contains a lot of fun effects. Since ChatUnited is already established on the Swedish market, it is just for our customers to join a well working community," says Karin Rehbinder, Halebop. "Historically, we have seen that mobile chatting are one of those services driving most traffic in the operators’ networks, both in terms of air-time and data-transferring. Only on the German market, for example, Aspiro’s chat-service drives millions of minutes of traffic each month," says Håkan Persson, CEO, Aspiro. "We launched our first chat service in 2001, and we have seen that customer loyalty increases at the operators offering chat. The users’ visiting frequency is also higher for the chat service compared to other kinds of mobile services.”
