Aspiro's Fleet Manager wins award for best WAP application at WAP Forum Aspiro's WAP service for small and medium-sized companies, Fleet Manager, has won the award for this year's best WAP application in the category Best Business Application at the recent W@P Awards held in Seville, Spain. Aspiro's Fleet Manager WAP service has won a W@P Award at WAP Forum's annual competition for best WAP applications. The competition is divided into three categories of which Fleet Manager won the category "Best use of WAP in a Business Application". Fleet Manager is a complete system for small to medium-sized companies in the transport and logistics sector. The system covers all aspects of transport control, such as receiving orders, transport management, status reports and billing information, with the help of a simple company database. The solution is a cost-effective alternative for a low-cost investment. All the system requires to work is a PC connected to the Internet at a company's office and one WAP telephone per driver. Another of Aspiro's WAP services, City Guide, was also nominated in the category "Best use of WAP in a Consumer Application". This is the first year the W@P Awards have been held. The W@P Awards are arranged by WAP Forum, a worldwide trade organization of 500 companies, including Ericsson and Nokia, which developed the WAP (wireless application protocol) world standard for wireless data communication.
