Aspiro’s two WAP services Fleet Manager and City Guide have been nominated for best WAP applications in their categories at W@P Award. The winners will be announced on November 27 at the WAP congress in Seville, Spain.

Two of Aspiro’s WAP applications have been nominated for awards at WAP Forum’s competition for best WAP applications, W@P Award. The competition is divided into three categories and Aspiro’s products have been nominated in two of them: ”Best use of WAP in a Consumer Application” and ”Best use of WAP in a Business Application”. Aspiro’s WAP service City Guide has been nominated as best consumer application. City Guide is a package of information services which quite literally places the entire world into the hands of users. Regardless of which city users are in or whatever they wish to do, all they need is a mobile phone to access all the latest local news and information. For example, City Guide provides details about hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, entertainment and a world weather report service. On business trips, vacation or simply a fun night out, City Guide gives users all the information they need, 24 hours a day, to make this possible with just a mobile phone. Aspiro’s WAP service Fleet Manager has been nominated as best business application. Aspiro Fleet Manager is a complete system for small to medium-sized companies in the transport and logistics sector. The system covers all aspects of transport control, such as receiving orders, transport management, status reports and billing information, with the help of a simple company database. The solution is a cost-effective alternative for a low-cost investment. All you require is a PC with an Internet connection at the office and one WAP telephone per driver. This is the first year the W@P Awards have been held. The winners will be announced at the W@P Award Ceremony November 27 on the final day of the WAP congress in Seville. The W@P Awards are arranged by WAP Forum, a worldwide trade organization of 500 companies, including Ericsson and Nokia, that have developed the WAP (wireless application protocol) world standard for wireless data communication.
