Aspiro has entered an agreement with Nordic telecom group Telenor to supply a new music store on Telenor’s Norwegian mobile portals. The launch is scheduled for May. Aspiro will deliver a music store enabling users to download music to their mobile phones or PCs.

Commenting, Gunnar Sellæg, Aspiro’s CEO said: “Aspiro is in a class of its own as the biggest mobile phone entertainment player in the Nordic region. This status has enabled us to develop and offer one of the market’s best music download services. We possess a cutting-edge technology solution, close relations with the major multinational record companies and many local labels as well as partnerships with Nordic operators.”

The music store will operate under Telenor’s Telenor and djuice brands, and will be the only music download service on Telenor’s mobile portals. At launch, there will be some 700,000 tracks available to customers, with this range including music from all the major record companies like Universal, Warner Music, EMI and SonyBMG, plus Phonofile, Bonnier Amigo and a broad array of smaller local and international labels.
