Assemblin Caverion Group division in Norway in extended project assignment in Oslo’s government quarter
Assemblin Caverion Group division in Norway has signed an extended agreement with Skanska regarding heating and sanitation installations in the second stage of the expansion of Oslo’s new government quarter.
Norwegian Statsbygg’s renovation and expansion of Oslo’s government quarter is now entering the second stage of three. Assemblin in Norway is already responsible for heating and sanitation installations in the basement levels of the quarter (part of Stage 1). Now, Assemblin Caverion Group in Norway has also been commissioned to participate in designing Block C, the largest sub-project in the second stage, which will comprise 21,600 m2 of premises spread over 11 floors.
As with the previous contract, this is a collaboration agreement between Statsbygg, Skanska and the technical subcontractors, in which the parties share responsibility for development, project planning, planning and implementation.
“We are delighted to now be afforded the extended trust that the start of the next stage entails. This assignment imposes rigorous demands on quality, security, working environment and sustainability, which are also important focus areas for us, and I feel that our expertise and experience add considerable quality to the project. We now look forward to being able to participate in the development of this signature building for Oslo in close cooperation with the other parties,” says Snorre Barking, Unit Manager at Assemblin Caverion Group in Norway.
The new agreement requires the approval of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament), and construction is planned to commence in January 2025.
