Association for Healthcare Foodservice Serves as Content Partner to American Hospital Association Leadership Guide
Executive Primer on Hospital Environmental Sustainability Established
Louisville, KY (November 17, 2010) – The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF), served as a content partner to American Hospital Association (AHA) in the creation of the Executive Primer on Hospital Environmental Sustainability. The Executive Primer on Hospital Environmental Sustainability is an American Hospital Association (AHA) leadership guide for hospital and health system leaders.
“The AHA appreciates the contributions of those professionals working in healthcare/hospital food services toward improving our efforts to be more sustainable, said Rich Umbdenstock, president and CEO of the American Hospital Association. “There is much we can do together to reduce the waste produced in the delivery of food and beverage to our patients, their families, and our staff.”

AHA will expand its guidance by introducing the Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitals. This operations guide for managers will provide tools, target objectives and best practices to help hospitals implement sustainable practices.
