On Monday May 27, the Belgian author Bart Moeyaert receives the world’s largest award for children’s and YA literature; the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2019. Welcome to cover the award ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall between 5.45–7 pm CEST. The award is presented by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria attended by Amanda Lind, Swedish Minister for Culture and Democracy who is giving a speech in honor of the laureate. The compere of the evening is the actress and comedian Nisti Stêrk.

“The ALMA award ceremony has been on my wish list for a long time! Bart Moeyaert makes us, as readers, think and come up with answers on our own. Just like Astrid Lindgren, he knows how to make us laugh and how to move us without teaching a lesson or pointing a moral. He’s a brave person who dares to say what he thinks.” says Nisti Stêrk.
