Eva Lindström accepts the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2022

The Swedish author and illustrator Eva Lindström received the world’s largest award for children's and young adult literature, the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, at a ceremony in the Stockholm Concert Hall on Monday evening. The award was presented by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria. − It’s important for everyone to be able to access worlds we might never encounter any other way, to be exposed to ideas that make life seem bigger, ideas that stimulate our imaginations, said Eva Lindström during the award ceremony. Award Ceremony for 2022 ALMA Laureate Eva Lindström

On Monday, 30 May, the picture book artist Eva Lindström will receive the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for 2022. The award diploma will be presented by HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. Sweden’s Minister for Culture, Jeanette Gustafsdotter, will give a speech to the laureate. The master of ceremonies is actor and television presenter Philomène Grandin and Sirqus Alfon gives us a music/circus crossover performance. Members of the press are invited to cover the ceremony in person at the Stockholm Concert Hall on Monday, 30 May from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Journalists/photographers

Today, the candidate’s list for the 2022 award was made public on alma.se/en.
