SWEDEN'S SECOND LARGEST NEWSPAPER FASTER WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY Sweden's second largest Internet newspaper, Expressen.se, challenges the competition by re-launching its website on Polopoly's Content Management system Swedish tabloid Expressen has recently enjoyed a large upturn in popularity, showing increased sales of paper edition as well as increased number of web site visitors. Last week, 642,000 unique individuals came to read the news on the site. As part of its bid to become the fastest Scandinavian newspaper, Expressen now moves the site to the technical platform of Swedish CM vendor Polopoly. - The technology of Polopoly means that Expressen can report news stories even faster. The time that passes from the arrival of a piece of news to the news desk until our visitors can read about it now becomes more or less negligeable says Bo Anderssson, President of Expressen.se. - I am really proud to welcome Expressen to the Polopoly family, says Polopoly CEO Gustaf Sahlman. Since the first launch of our Content Management platform back in 1996, one of the corner stones of our business concept has been to offer our clients a technology that is robust enough to accommodate a continually increasing number of readers. Expressen is one of the most visited news sites in Europe, and their demands on scalability and performance are met by very few suppliers in the market today. Polopoly is a fast growing, profitable Swedish company that develops platform independent systems for Content Management, personalization and commerce. Clients include some of the main Scandinavian players within media and retail, such as IKEA (global retail), COOP (northern Europe retail), the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation, Dagens Nyheter (Scandinavia's largest morning newspaper), Aftonbladet (Scandinavia's largest tabloid), Expressen (Sweden's second largest tabloid) and all the Swedish Pharmacies.
