Atlas Copco appoints Sofia Svingby Vice President Corporate Responsibility

Stockholm, Sweden, September 7, 2016: Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has appointed Sofia Svingby as Vice President Corporate Responsibility for Atlas Copco, starting November 1, 2016.

The Atlas Copco Group has own operations in 92 countries and customers in more than 180. To achieve its mission of delivering sustainable profitable growth at all times doing business in a responsible and ethical way is deeply integrated in all steps of the value chain. Products and service are developed to increase customers’ productivity and the company strives to make each new generation safer, more energy-efficient and ergonomic then the previous one. 

“Sofia has solid experience from negotiation, project management and networking in some of the world’s most complex contexts,” said Annika Berglund, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications and Governmental Affairs. “I am confident that her knowledge, insights and networks will be a valuable addition to Atlas Copco and further strengthen our sustainability work.”

Sofia Svingby has during the past 13 years held various positions at NIR, the International Council of Swedish Industry. Currently, she is their director operations, responsible for relations’ management and developing and communicating the organization’s key methodologies. Sofia Svingby is the Chair of the Swedish HIV and Aids Workplace Program (SWHAP), with activities in eleven Sub-Saharan countries.

Sofia Svingby, a Swedish citizen, studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
