Atlas Copco opens a customer center in Burkina Faso

Stockholm, Sweden, October 22, 2012: Atlas Copco has opened a customer center in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to strengthen the Group’s presence in western Africa with an increased offering of products and services to mining customers.

Atlas Copco Burkina Faso Sarl was officially inaugurated on October 12. The company offers surface and underground mining equipment, exploration rigs, as well as drilling consumables and related parts and services. The organization is expected to grow from currently 10 to around 20 employees before the end of 2013, adding customer service and support staff.

“Having this facility helps us get closer to customers in French-speaking West Africa, where we see good growth potential in the mining and exploration segments,” said Bob Fassl, Business Area President, Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique.

Atlas Copco previously conducted business in Burkina Faso through the customer center in Mali.
