Stockholm, Sweden, April 16, 2008: Atlas Copco’s Peter Wallenberg Marketing and Sales Award will this year be presented to a team at Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique Service division. The award recognizes the development and marketing of AirOptimizer™, a service that reduces compressed-air installations’ energy consumption.

The team, Tine Lefebvre, Urban Pettersson, and Vagner Rego, has developed and marketed both a service that reduces customers’ energy costs, and tools that facilitate the sales process by immediately showing the customer potential energy savings. Reduced energy consumption means lower production costs and at the same time reduced CO2 emissions, offering a win–win situation to the customer and society.

“By developing and marketing a service that shows and achieves potential energy savings for customers, the team has developed an optimal solution that strengthens and clearly demonstrates Atlas Copco’s work for a better environment,” says Gunnar Brock, President and CEO of the Atlas Copco Group. “The value of the service is further increased because it adds a new dimension to Atlas Copco’s growing focus on aftermarket services.”

Dr. Peter Wallenberg, honorary chairman of Atlas Copco AB, worked for the Group for 20 years before serving as Chairman of the Board from 1974 to 1996. The Peter Wallenberg Marketing and Sales Award recognizes the most innovative successfully implemented method in the field of sales and marketing. The award will be presented at Atlas Copco’s Annual General Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 24, 2008.
