Atlas Tube Launches Hollow Structural Sections Web Video Series
Educational Videos Kick Off SteelDay 2012
CHICAGO (September 20, 2012) — Atlas Tube, a division of JMC Steel Group, announced plans to premiere an ongoing educational video series on steel hollow structural sections (HSS) at SteelDay 2012. The series will be presented by Brad Fletcher, structural engineer, at the event on September 28, 2012.
The Atlas Tube videos feature Fletcher speaking on a wide range of topics related to steel HSS, providing an overview of the product’s benefits and uses in structural engineering and across the industry. The video series premieres live at Atlas Tube’s SteelDay event, September 28, at JMC Steel Group’s headquarters in downtown Chicago.
“We’re excited to introduce the video series live on SteelDay,” said Fletcher, senior sales engineer at Atlas Tube. “I will also be speaking at the event, and during my presentation, I will discuss HSS’ position as the material of choice for engineers designing for the future.”
The videos, entitled “Designing with HSS,” were created to educate engineers and contractors about the many advantages of using HSS. They also serve to dispel some of the most common myths attributed to the product. By enlightening members in the industry about the core values of the product, Fletcher hopes that this series will help them recognize the enormous potential HSS will have in the years and decades to come.
Following SteelDay, Atlas Tube will post the first videos in the HSS series on JMC Steel Group’s YouTube channel and on Atlas’ blog. The multi-part HSS video series features Fletcher’s discussions of HSS topics, including but not limited to general properties, uses and applications, and the production of HSS.
