Atria Estonia invests in local pork production in Estonia and buys two pig farms in Southern Estonia, Veelikse village, Mulgimaa. The consumption of pork in Estonia has been stable, and with the acquisition, Atria aims to ensure the supply of domestic pork in the future as well.

In Estonia, pork self-sufficiency is about 70 percent, and it is very important for us to be able to offer domestic pork to consumers. After this acquisition, Atria owns 6 pig farms in Estonia, with an annual production of about 5 million kilos, says Atria Estonia’s Managing Director Olle Horm.

We are going to invest in renovating the pig breeding facilities we have now acquired. Atria is a responsible food producer and we want to invest in the whole food chain in Estonia, says Horm.
