Atria to improve productivity in cured sausage production
Atria Finland will investigate methods for increasing the efficiency of cured sausage production. Cured sausages are currently produced at the Kuopio plant.
With a view to maintaining its competitiveness in the tough market conditions, Atria will look into alternative production models for cured sausages. At the same time Atria will investigate the cost structure of the entire Kuopio unit, including support functions. In accordance with the announcement made on 26 January 2011, Atria's bovine slaughtering operations will be transferred from Kuopio to the Kauhajoki slaughterhouse in early 2013.
Employer–employee negotiations concerning the reorganisation plans have been launched. The negotiations will affect a total of 18 people at the Kuopio production plant.
