Atria Plc Company Announcement 21 January 2014 at 3 pm

On 11 July 2013, Atria Plc and Saarioinen Oy signed a preliminary agreement under which Atria will acquire Saarioinen's procurement, slaughtering and cutting operations for beef, pork and chicken. On 21 January 2014, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority announced its approval of the acquisition. The deal between Atria and Saarioinen will be finalised by the end of January 2014. The purchase price is approximately EUR 30 million and will be paid in cash. The operations covered by the deal will be integrated into Atria starting 1 February 2014.

The personnel of Saarioinen's procurement, slaughtering and cutting operations will move to Atria as continuing employees, and Atria will continue its industrial operations in Jyväskylä and Sahalahti. The operations covered by the deal employ 400 people in average. Atria's net sales are expected to grow by about EUR 70 million annually.
