One of the UK’s largest road surfacing operators believes it will significantly reduce its tyre replacement costs and improve fleet efficiency after appointing ATS Euromaster to service and manage the tyres on its 4,500 vehicles, which includes everything from quad bikes, vans, and heavy trucks to loading shovels and specialist plant.

Eurovia, which works on highways nationwide, believes the proactive approach ATS Euromaster takes to tyre servicing, as well as its UK-wide 24/7 support, will introduce more efficiency to its operation as well as save substantial sums of money.

Keith Atkins, Eurovia’s Group Fleet Engineer, explains: “We operate across the UK from the Highlands of Scotland to the Isle of Wight. Vehicle uptime is of paramount importance to us, we have to keep to incredibly tight timescales and running late or over our allocated time slot could cost us significant sums of money in terms of penalties, not to mention major disruption to road users.

“Delays for any reason, and particularly for tyre-related issues which are often preventable, are simply not an option. We need to work with a tyre contractor which can provide true national coverage 24/7 365 days a year, understands the challenges faced by our business and works with us in a proactive manner to address them.

Eurovia adheres to strict response times set by its clients and in return the company has set stringent KPIs and targets for ATS Euromaster to meet.

Atkins adds: “ATS Euromaster is a tyre expert, and with their help we’re working to improve our tyre husbandry. That means having their technicians proactively inspect our tyres on a monthly basis, which should help to spot and rectify issues before they result in downtime. We’ll also be working hard together to replace tyres at the optimum time, to ensure we get the longest service life.”

ATS Euromaster’s inspections support Eurovia’s drivers’ own daily walk-around vehicle checks, and provide the business with vital reports on tyre condition which help to boost fleet efficiency.

Alongside operating a wide range of commercial vehicles, Eurovia also run a number of specialist vehicles which are critical to its road surfacing operation, such as asphalt spreading machines.

“We needed to be sure our service provider could supply the range of tyres for our whole fleet, not just vehicles but the extensive range of plant as well, ATS Euromaster impressed us with its ability to fulfil this – they’ve been easy to do business with,” says Atkins.

David Legg, ATS Euromaster’s National Business Development Manager, adds: “We worked closely with Eurovia to implement a multi-level tyre offer which delivers exactly what the company needs and drives down unnecessary costs. It was also important for Eurovia to work with a service provider which matches its high standards in health and safety as well as customer service – ATS Euromaster was awarded Gold in this year’s RoSPA awards so we were able to demonstrate this.”
