ATS Euromaster has today launched a pilot programme to offer a range of service, maintenance and repair (SMR) facilities for trucks and trailers, designed to make it easy for fleets to get rapid access to expert care for larger commercial vehicles.

Six ATS Euromaster centres have been selected to take part in the pilot, in Birmingham, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Rugby, Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester, supporting truck operators both at their home base or when in need out on the road.

In addition to offering tyres for trucks and trailers, these centres are now fully trained to supply and fit replacement air cables, electrical coils and suzie lines from an extensive stock – with work carried out either in centre, on-site or at the roadside. They are also offering replacement batteries with two year unlimited mileage guarantees, plus a rapid response service for jumpstarting trucks in need of urgent assistance.

Centres will be able to re-charge truck air-conditioning systems with gas and lubricant to ensure optimum efficiency, as well as freshen up systems with a deep anti-bacterial clean.

A full range of replacement truck wheel nuts and wheel studs are stocked too, adding to a range of wheel services previously offered including replacement aluminium and steel wheels, dynamic wheel balancing and wheel alignment.

Jim Davis, Heavy Vehicle SMR Project Manager, ATS Euromaster, says: “Our focus is on providing high quality support for truck operators both at their base of operations but also when they are away from home. That’s why we are piloting our new services in these key areas for transport, including the M6.”

Commenting on the potential for the pilot, Peter Fairlie, Group Sales Director at ATS Euromaster, explains: “We’re best known in the truck sector for our tyre expertise, so it’s a natural step as our business grows to look at providing additional services. This initiative reflects our continued dedication to providing solutions for the changing needs of our customers today, just as we have been doing for the past 50 years.

“Initially we’re focusing on six centres in key heartland territory for truck fleets, but there’s the potential to expand this in line with customer demand. We have 193 centres that provide truck tyre services today, plus an 820-strong mobile service fleet, giving us a larger footprint than many truck manufacturers’ own franchised dealer networks.

“However, our initial priority is on delivering a successful pilot in these six areas, with the same commitment to expertise and outstanding customer care which our customers have come to expect from us.”

During the last five years ATS Euromaster has invested heavily in expanding its SMR expertise for cars and vans beyond its traditional reputation for tyres and fast-fit. Today the company offers everything from engine diagnostics and standard or comprehensive servicing, to Class IV and Class VII MOTs.

The pilot marks the first time ATS Euromaster has expanded its range of services beyond tyres and wheels for commercial vehicles above 7 tonnes gvw.
