Fleet Hire has signed a new three year agreement to fit premium Michelin tyres across more than 4,500 cars and vans within its growing fleet.

The deal reaffirms Fleet Hire’s commitment to safety and the environment, with customers able to take full advantage of a tyre brand which offers a long life and impressive on-the-road performance, supported by the ATS Euromaster service network, which has the largest mobile tyre fitting fleet in the business.

The contract covers the 65 per cent of vehicles supplied by Fleet Hire with a full repair and maintenance package and was won following a competitive tender.

George Reid, Technical Operations Manager for Fleet Hire, says: “Michelin has been our first choice fitment for years; it’s a long-term relationship which benefits both our business and our customers.

“We know from comparing the performance of Michelin tyres with other brands we see on new vehicles that Michelin tyres typically last longer. This helps us to reduce replacement costs and results in less downtime. It’s a win-win situation,” he explains.

Commenting on the tyre fitting service, Reid adds: “Our customers appreciate the ability to have their tyres fitted by a mobile technician as it saves the time and hassle of visiting a centre. Retaining this benefit was key to the contract as it helps us to deliver outstanding customer care.”

When a vehicle needs replacement tyres, the driver can visit any ATS Euromaster centre or contact the Fleet Hire driver helpline, which automatically routes tyre-related calls to ATS Euromaster’s customer service centre for directions to the nearest centre, or to book a mobile appointment. ATS Euromaster’s more than 800 service vans means tyres can be fitted at a customer’s home or place of work, usually on a same or next-day basis.

Fleet Hire’s light commercial vehicle customers also benefit from access to a comprehensive roadside rapid response service for tyre-related breakdowns, giving drivers the reassurance that they can call on ATS Euromaster 24/7/365. No matter where a van is in the UK, the attending technician will aim to arrive on-site with the correct size Michelin replacement tyre.
