Lancashire-based removals and logistics specialist Andrew Porter Ltd has called on the expertise of ATS Euromaster to fit and service tyres across its fleet of 150 commercial vehicle assets.

Andrew Porter runs a fleet ranging from 3.5 tonne vans to 40 tonne articulated vehicles and uses Fairport Garages in Adlington, to maintain the fleet.

Fairport Garages is serviced by ATS Euromaster’s Westhoughton centre, located just four miles from Adlington, and the switch to a new service provider has coincided with the move to a 100 per cent Pirelli and Vacu-Lug fitment policy for the Andrew Porter fleet.

Having previously used a local independent service provider, Fairport Garages appointed ATS Euromaster after being impressed by the knowledgeable approach of the team. Also key was ATS Euromaster’s competitive pricing and the ability to provide 24/7 roadside support on a pan-European basis, as the fleet spends a large proportion of time on the Continent.

Fairport Garages found itself putting ATS Euromaster’s European roadside support to the test a little sooner than expected, as three days after signing the new contract a call was received at 3am from an Andrew Porter driver requesting urgent roadside assistance in Calais, France.

David Porter,  Director at Fairport Garages explains: “We wanted to ensure we had the best service provider for our fleet in the UK and the fact ATS Euromaster could support us in the event of a tyre failure in Europe was an extra bonus.

“If we hadn’t had ATS Euromaster on board, we’d have struggled to get expert assistance to our driver so quickly.  The technician arrived with exactly the right tyre, ensuring our driver was back on the road in no time.”

The Andrew Porter driver called ATS Euromaster’s 24/7 customer support centre in Birmingham, where a member of staff co-ordinated the callout with Euromaster, which operates in 17 European countries.

Porter explains: “Having a company which is easy to do business with is important to us and the team at ATS Euromaster haven’t disappointed. We have a dedicated mobile tyre technician who carries out all of our routine tyre fitting and service work.”

As well as replacing worn tyres, the local ATS Euromaster technician proactively regrooves truck tyres, repairs punctures and turns tyres on the rim to maximise tyre life. He also visits Fairport Garages and the Andrew Porter site on a daily basis to perform tyre safety inspections on any vehicles currently on-site.
