Stockholm, April 18 th, 2017. Attana AB, Biogelx Ltd and University of Stuttgart, Institute of Cell Biology and Immunology, Prof. Kontermann’s group has been granted €500.000 from the Eurostars program supporting R&D performing SMEs. The grant is for development of sensitive cell-based biosensors using peptide matrices.

The project aims at developing biologically relevant tools for pre-clinical studies based on Attana´s cell-based 3rdgeneration biosensors, Biogelex´s 3D hydrogel matrix for cell growth and Prof. Kontermann’s leading knowledge in biotherapeutics. The tool will increase the success rate and cut the costs for pharmaceutical companies developing new drugs.

The project will adapt Biogelx peptide based 3D hydrogel technology to Attana´s sensor chips. The 3D gel-chips will offer a tissue-mimicking environment, ensuring increased biological relevance and high data quality. The new assays will be developed and validated according to the R&D processes used by Prof Kontermann´s group.
