Attendo takes over Humana’s home care operations

Attendo has entered into an agreement to acquire home care from the care company Humana. Humana has home care operations in several of Attendo’s priority regions and the transaction is expected to provide synergy benefits.

In total, the acquired operations have around 1,100 employees in some ten locations in Sweden. Through the acquisition, Attendo strengthens its high-quality home care services offering. Attendo sees good opportunities for synergies since the size of the customer base in each location is a key factor in creating well-functioning operations.

The operations have sales of approximately SEK 250 million and have a marginal impact on Attendo’s earnings.

Attendo offers home care in some 20 locations in Sweden. Attendo receives high ratings in the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare’s customer surveys. In the 2016 survey the proportion of satisfied customers in Attendo’s home care was 89%, which is somewhat higher than the average for all private and public providers surveyed. The Attendo Kärna home care in Linköping were named “Sweden’s best home care unit 2016” in the same survey.

Completion of the acquisition depends on approval from the authorities and other customary terms.
