AU-SYSTEM AND TELIA MOBILE IN INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION. GSM World Congress, CANNES, FRANCE, February 2., 2000 - AU-System announces an international co-operation with Telia Mobile, the premiere wireless provider in Sweden. AU-System will offer Wireless Internet service creation and development based on Telia Mobile's Golden Gate, a new advanced solution for unified networks and future services. "AU-System was, together with Telia, the main contributor to the original design of the Golden Gate concept. They know the concept and therefore I know they can be of great value in designing new services together with us and with our customers", says Stefan Hagbard, Project Manager for Golden Gate at Telia Mobile. Golden Gate adds inter-connectivity between different networks from both the telecom and the datacom world. This means that Golden Gate enables the integration of wireless networks with the Internet, the foundation for a true Wireless Internet. "Golden Gate is an important enabler for the Wireless Internet solutions of the future." The Golden Gate platform has been jointly developed by Telia Mobile and Nortel Networks. It offers generic number portability for different types of networks. The solution will add possibilities to create and add new network independent services in a cost and time efficient way. Services can be incorporated by the operator as well as by an external Service Provider. Golden Gate is built in an IP-based environment based on open standards such as the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) - the emerging Internet standard. The IP-centric approach allows secure intelligent services to be distributed across disparate network technologies and architectures.
