AU-System Makes Network Monitoring Possible for Sweden's Broadband Operators Stockholm, Sweden - April 5, 2001 - AU-System has implemented a system for monitoring Telia subsidiary Skanova's network providing broadband services to homes and companies. This is AU-System's fifth assignment of the kind for broadband actors. Previously, Bredbandsbolaget, Banverket Telenät, Telia Telecom, and Nextra have employed AU-System's assistance in securing high availability for their services. "In order to maintain constant and high quality broadband services, well- functioning network monitoring is a must," says Lars Andersson, CTO at AU-System OSS Solutions. The solution chosen by Skanova makes it easy for them to control the services they provide via their broadband network based on ADSL and ATM technology. The monitoring system warns of faults in Skanova's broadband service network and provides information about which customers are affected by the faults. AU-System installed and adapted the Netcool system from Micromuse to suit Skanova's environment in just three months - despite the need to integrate equipment from several suppliers. Skanova is an independent company within the Telia Group with Sweden's largest telecom and data network.
