Audientes A/S initiates consumer marketing & sales campaign targeting Japan’s large “Silver Market” opportunity

Leveraging the power of social media, its Japanese subsidiary Audientes Co. Ltd. is actively engaging with Japanese consumers, creating awareness and anticipation for the company’s innovative hearing solution that will be available in online and retail channels.
Japan’s large “Silver Market” opportunity
Targeting the senior population in Japan’s “Silver Market,” the opportunity is significant given the country’s aging demographics. In Japan, approximately 36 million people (about 29% of the population) are aged 65 or older. Among this group, a substantial percentage experiences hearing challenges. According to estimates, the total addressable market (TAM) in Japan could be as high as 10-12 million people, factoring in seniors with mild to severe hearing challenges, making it a very substantial market for hearing solutions like Audientes’ Companion product. Moreover, the hearing aid adoption rate in Japan, at about 14%, is significantly lower compared to European and US markets, where the adoption ranges between 30-40% and even higher in countries like Denmark and Norway. This gap highlights significant growth potential in Japan’s market as the awareness and accessibility of hearing solutions improve.
Japanese version of ‘Companion by Audientes’ on sale in October
Audientes’ advanced but easy-to-use hearable device, Companion by Audientes, is designed to enhance hearing by performing a built-in hearing test. With advanced sound amplification and noise reduction features, the Companion hearable ensures that users in a matter of minutes will enjoy a personalized hearing experience tailored to their needs, which dramatically improves participating in conversations or listening to audio from the TV, smartphone or concerts. The device’s user-friendly interface and its ability to optimize hearing in real-time offer Japanese consumers both convenience and high-quality hearing assistance.
Marketing and sales campaign
Starting on October 6th, Audientes in Japan will expand its reach through marketing on LINE, Japan’s most widely used communication platform. This will bring Audientes closer to millions of potential customers, showcasing the company’s commitment to making its hearing solutions accessible to Japanese end-users.
From October 11th, full-scale sales will commence through the Green Funding platform, a trusted marketplace for the introduction of new consumer electronics and other products in Japan. Green Funding provides an ideal platform for Audientes to introduce its advanced hearable product Companion by Audientes to the rapidly growing “Silver Market” audience in Japan eager for innovative consumer electronics that can improve their quality of life.
In addition, Audientes is pleased to announce the launch of its Japanese campaign website, providing local customers with easy access to product information and purchasing options. To further support the growing interest in Audientes’ products, the company has also launched a dedicated customer call center, now fully operational to assist Japanese consumers with inquiries and support.
Audientes successfully prepared and shipped over 1,000 fully localized Companion products to Japan in Q3 as the marketing activities commenced, with retail availability in Q4 2024. All distribution will be handled by TD SYNNEX, a leading distributor and solutions aggregator in Japan, part of the global TD SYNNEX group, with a large reach in consumer electronics channels.
