Gothenburg, April 24 – Aurobay is set to participate in the 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, in June 23 in Colorado. This event will demonstrate the capabilities of Aurobay's Spark Ignition 2.0-liter high-performance engine in one of the most challenging global motorsport events.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, also known as the “Race to the Clouds,” is a renowned event that tests the endurance and performance of both vehicles and drivers. The race involves a steep 12.42-mile track with 156 turns, climbing 4,720 feet to a high-altitude finish line. It is an ideal platform for showcasing automotive advancements in harsh conditions.

Aurobay will compete with its Spark Ignition 2.0-liter high performance engine, which is usually found in high-end mild-hybrid vehicles, and is noted for its power and responsiveness. For the race, this engine has been specifically tuned to maximize efficiency at the high altitude of Pikes Peak, allowing it to operate continuously at 6300 RPM with peaks of up to 6800 RPM.

Michael Fleiss, CEO of Aurobay, expressed his enthusiasm about the company's participation: “Pikes Peak is more than just a race; it's a benchmark for performance and reliability. We are excited to demonstrate the superior capabilities of our high performance engine in such a competitive and challenging environment.”

By teaming up with Italian race car brand Wolf Racing, Aurobay will leverage its heritage of hill-climb victories to maximize its chances of success. The car, driven by seasoned racer, Christian Merli — a five-time FIA European Hill Climbing Champion — is fine-tuned to navigate the demanding course with precision.

“I cannot wait to make my debut at Pikes Peak together with Aurobay and Wolf Racing. I am eager to showcase what we can achieve together in such a unique and demanding setting.” said Christian Merli.

The race will provide Aurobay with a critical real-world testing environment, enabling further advancements in engine development. Aurobay continues to push the boundaries of automotive engineering and looks forward to sharing future updates.
