Aurobay, a division of Horse Powertrain Limited, has won the TECHNOBEST 2025 award for its innovative Hybrid System technology. The award, presented by AUTOBEST, Europe's largest independent automotive jury representing 31 European countries, recognizes breakthrough achievements in automotive technology.

Aurobay's Hybrid System Technology recently set new world records for range, fuel efficiency, and emissions, while offering substantial electric driving capability for urban use. The AUTOBEST jury acknowledged that although internal combustion engines will continue to evolve, they remain essential for the future of mobility.Aurobay's hybrid system technology focuses on making hybrid engines more efficient, acknowledging that there are multiple paths to net zero.

"We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition from AUTOBEST. It validates our commitment to developing multiple powertrain solutions that meet diverse mobility needs around the world," said Ruiping Wang, CEO of Aurobay.

"This award reinforces our vision of making advanced powertrain technology accessible to everyone, everywhere."

The technology delivers exceptional range for long-distance travel while ensuring zero-emission capability for city driving. According to AUTOBEST, this hybrid approach represents "probably the best powertrain for many motorists in Europe and around the world."

“This shows how our team excels in engineering and innovation to develop hybrid system technology. The recognition from AUTOBEST demonstrates the strength of our technological capabilities and reinforces our position as a trusted partner for automotive manufacturers. Our hybrid system technology offers our existing and future clients a competitive advantage in meeting consumer demands for both efficiency and performance”, said Matias Giannini, CEO of Horse Powertrain.

This winning technology is used in Geely's high-performance plug-in hybrid system, the EM-P hybrid system. Designed for dynamic driving as well as significant fuel saving, it offers enhanced acceleration and responsiveness by combining a 4-cylinder turbocharged dedicated hybrid engine together with a three-speed dual motor dedicated hybrid transmission for optimized power and efficiency.

Aurobay also uses the platform technology in a newly launched hybrid system called EM-i which demonstrates exceptional efficiency with fuel consumption of just 2.62 liters per 100 kilometers, setting new benchmarks for hybrid powertrain efficiency.

The award will be presented at the 24th AUTOBEST Awards Gala in Zurich in 2025.

Created in 2001, AUTOBEST has established itself as Europe's leading independent automotive awards organization. Its jury uses a transparent voting system with 13 comprehensive criteria to evaluate vehicles and technologies.

The organization represents 31 European countries, making it the largest independent motoring jury worldwide. AUTOBEST evaluates factors including new technologies, connectivity, investments in green technologies, and automotive job opportunities across Europe.
