Demand for cosmetic surgery growing despite the recession

Aurora Clinics launches call centre and new Birmingham clinic to meet increasing demand

Despite the constant diet of economic gloom in the newspapers and on television, it seems one unlikely industry is continuing to thrive against all the odds. The cosmetic surgery industry.

The demand for cosmetic surgery and non-surgical procedures seems to be showing no signs of slowing, in defiance of the deepening recession. This has been seen first hand by the team at Aurora Clinics, who continue to see more and more patients seeking cosmetic treatment. So much so that increasing demand has led the clinic to set up a dedicated call centre to advise prospective patients.

Enquiries had previously been dealt with by the staff at their Head Office in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, but the increasing number of calls has led to a brand new office being established solely to deal with patient enquiries.

So where are all these new prospective patients coming from? One region that has seen a huge increase in demand has been the Midlands.

In response, Aurora Clinics have opened a brand new clinic in Birmingham to meet demand from prospective patients in the area, with their first consultation clinic having taken place this month.

The day saw 4 patients come for consultations with surgeon Mr Sanjay Azad, the latest addition to the growing Aurora surgical team, at the BMI Priory Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr Azad has wide-ranging experience of performing procedures on both the face and body, but has particular interest and expertise in the 'body lift' - a complex surgery designed for patients who have experienced extensive weight loss, which involves performing multiple procedures in one go.

And the company's plans don't end with Birmingham. They are already in talks to add more plastic surgeons and procedures in the coming months.

Against the odds, it may be that the cosmetic surgery industry proves instrumental in helping 'lift' the country out of the economic gloom...
