Expert gynaecological surgeon Mr John Telfer joins Aurora Clinics
Mr Telfer, seen correcting the work of another surgeon on Channel 5's Botched Up Bodies, brings new expertise to the Aurora team
One of the UK's leading experts in gynaecological surgery has joined the team of plastic surgeons at private cosmetic surgery group Aurora Clinics.
Mr John Telfer, a fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon who also works for the NHS, has joined the growing surgical team of Aurora, working out of their new clinic at The Nuffield Hospital, Glasgow.
Mr Telfer comes with excellent credentials and brings a wealth of new expertise to the Aurora Clinics team.
He has considerable experience of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and is one of the country's leading specialists in complex gynaecological reconstruction.
As an authority in his field, he is regularly called upon to appear in the media, and was recently featured as one of the expert surgeons on Channel 5’s ‘Botched Up Bodies’.
During Episode 2 of the series - shown on TV this summer – he was seen performing reconstructive surgery on a patient who had undergone an unsuccessful labiaplasty, where the labia had been completely removed.
Surgical background
For the last 12 years, he has worked closely with gynaecologists in Glasgow to treat women with genital cancer and other abnormalities of the genitalia. As a testament to his skill and standing in the industry, he is the go-to surgeon for many fellow surgeons, who often refer particularly challenging cases to him.
Alongside his NHS work, John is also experienced in performing a wide range of aesthetic plastic surgery procedures. He is now able to offer full range of cosmetic procedures for both the face and body from Aurora’s Glasgow Nuffield Hospital clinic.
John is a member of BAPRAS (the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), the SDSD (Scottish Disorder of Sex Development Network) and the BSSM (British Society for Sexual Medicine), as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
