A new book, "World Wise Children" by Ayse Oge is Leading the Future
Los Angeles, California – June 2012 – A new book, “World Wise Children” from an award-winning business expert engages children in a rich global learning experience aimed at educating and inspiring them to create future opportunities for themselves.
According to a 2010 Ernst & Young survey, the majority of U.S. companies lack cultural understanding and diversity of thought to manage global business. With the fastest growth happening overseas, many businesses are now looking for hires with global experience to conduct business effectively abroad. Ayse Oge, international business expert and author of several books, “Go Global to Win”, “Global Business Guide”, believes that kids should learn these global skills at an early age to help expand their horizons. Here are four easy tips children can follow to become a world wise kid:
- Don’t think of yourself as living in a little bubble. The world gives you infinite opportunity to capture knowledge and information. By exploring outside of your own self, you can start creative endeavors and find new solutions to the world’s problems.
- Discover the world by watching educations television programs, reading books, and attending international fairs. Learn about different countries. Dance to their music, eat their foods, and make an effort to understand their point of view.
- Don’t be afraid to fail Think about all the things you know how to do, like riding a bike and using the computer. It probably took you several tries to learn those things before you mastered them. Keep practicing your world skills until you get comfortable with being around different cultures, values and traditions.
- Become the world’s bridge builder. Bridges need to be built on a strong foundation, and they also need creative tension to keep them up. You can contribute to this creative tension by knowing who you are, loving your own culture, and having an open mind toward other cultures.
