Autoliv Raises Dividend - Again

(Stockholm, Aug. 17, 2006) – – – Autoliv Inc. (NYSE: ALV and SSE: ALIVsdb), the world¬wide leader in automotive safety systems, today announced that its quarterly dividend will be increased by 6% to 37 cents per share from 35 cents. The dividend will be payable on Thursday, December 7, 2006, to Autoliv shareholders of record on the close of business on Thursday, November 9, 2006. The Ex-date when the shares will trade without the right to the dividend, will be November 7. The dividend was also raised in the third quarter (by 9%). The quarterly dividend has been increased eight times and more than tripled during the past four years, i.e., a compounded annual growth rate of 33%. In order to create value for its shareholders, Autoliv also has a share repurchase program. Through this program, the Company has returned $823 million to shareholders since the program was adopted in 2000 and $380 million since June last year. During the last twelve months, Autoliv has paid quarterly dividends of $108 million. The total amount of $488 million that has been returned to shareholders represents a pay-out ratio of 159% in relation to the net income of $307 million during the same twelve-month period. In relation to the Company’s average market capitalization of $4.2 billion during the last 12 months, the amount represents a total yield of 11.7%.
