ZENOS RETURNS WITH E10 S LAUNCH

A year after making its public debut at Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade show, Zenos Cars will return to Autosport International in 2015 with the launch of its second lightweight sports car.

Headed by former Caterham Cars CEO Ansar Ali and COO Mark Edwards, the new manufacturer broke cover at Birmingham’s NEC earlier this year, unveiling a prototype of its maiden model, the lightweight, 200bhp Zenos E10.

Capping 12 months of development, Zenos Cars will launch its new E10 S, featuring a 250bhp turbocharged, 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine and windscreen, at Autosport International on 8-11 January. Weighing 725 kg, the E10 S is expected to cover 0-60mph in less than four seconds.

A production-ready E10 S with an all-new interior will also be on display for the first time in Hall 6, Stand 6765. The Zenos E10 model is underpinned by the company’s E-series chassis platform; a unique aluminium extrusion ‘backbone’ and recycled carbon composite tub, which will serve as the platform for future vehicles including a roadster in 2016 and coupé in 2018.

“It’s surreal to be getting ready go to back to Autosport International where it all began, to say it’s been a busy 12 months would be an understatement,” Ali said.

“We received a fantastic reception to our launch at the 2014 show, which really set the tone for what has followed during our first year.

“We’re looking forward to launching the E10 S, and it will be the first time we have presented it as a production-finished version, another big step in the history of Zenos Cars.”

The Norfolk firm’s first production run will commence in January, shortly after the 25thanniversary edition of Autosport International. With vehicles to be delivered from March, a total of 90 deposits have been taken.

“It’s been one hell of a journey as we have designed and developed the E10,” Ali said.

“We’ve done this is in a very public manner, with a number of deposit holders as well as members of the media driving the prototype during the development process. Throughout, we have received incredibly positive feedback about the cars we’re designing and our business approach, in effect a huge vote of confidence.

“Being back at Autosport International will cement our plans and signal the start of our next chapter.”

Approximately 700 companies spanning every facet of motorsport will be present as show exhibitors, including Zenos partners ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Tuning and Titan. The event gets underway with two days dedicated to industry guests, with 28,000 motorsport professionals visiting the show in 2014 to network, see the latest technology and witness launches.

“The first public appearance by Zenos Cars and the launch of its E10 sports car was one of the highlights of Autosport International 2014, and it’s a story we’ve followed with keen interest since,” said Ian France, Autosport International Show Director.

“It’s an incredibly exciting project, and we’re looking forward to seeing the new E10 S at the NEC in January.”
