Expansive Worlds’ Call of the Wild: The Angler heads to console on August 30

Relax and unwind at your favorite spot in this open world fishing experience

STOCKHOLM – August 29, 2023 – Expansive Worlds has announced that their open world fishing game Call of the Wild: The Angler releases on console platforms tomorrow, August 30. Featuring a unique and approachable open world, teeming with fishing spots and beautiful natural terrain to explore, the game targets 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and 30 FPS on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S. It will also be available at launch on Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass for PC.

On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between Performance or Quality mode in the game settings, favoring an increased frame-rate or graphical quality and resolution. Improvements have also been made to controller rumble and haptics so that console gamers will be able to truly immerse themselves.

Further enhancing the fishing experience for all players is the recent Evolution Update, which contained a large number of improvements and features. This free new update, which was released August 16 for PC platforms, introduced a redesigned tutorial, the first phase of the overhauled progression system, improved rumble and haptics, eight new fish species in the Golden Ridge Reserve, and quality of life updates.

Call of the Wild: The Angler – Key features:

• Explore the great outdoors - Enjoy the experience of fishing in a vast open world on your own or with up to 11 friends in online cross-platform co-op multiplayer. Engage in a variety of fishing activities and find tranquil escape from everyday life as you explore endless waterways and breathtaking nature.
• Find the catch of a lifetime - Catch a range of diverse fish species, from small to legendary heavyweights. Each type of fish has its own unique behavior and characteristics and will require you to find them in their habitat. Experiment with different baits and lures and feel the excitement of catching a rare fish.
• Become a master angler - Improve your fishing knowledge by mastering different techniques and tools. Create your own angler and customize their appearance to match your style. Complete challenges to earn rewards and uncover the open world through story missions.
• Join a friendly community - The team will continue to deliver new features, content, and updates directly inspired by player feedback.

Call of the Wild: The Angler launches August 30 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and Game Pass for PC. The Launch Edition and Deluxe Edition will also be available to purchase.
