STOCKHOLM, August 25, 2015 - Avalanche Studios and Expansive Worlds today made available state-of-the-art eye tracking in theHunter, through a partnership with Tobii Tech. With the Tobii EyeX eye tracking controller, you are able to simultaneously travel in one direction while looking in another – just as you would in the wild.

With best-in-class graphics powered by the award-winning Avalanche Engine, theHunter is the most realistic hunting game ever created. More than five million players are registered to hunt brown bear, coyote, moose and more from the French Alps to the Australian Outback with over 300 weapons and pieces of hunting equipment at their disposal.

Download theHunter with Tobii eye tracking and purchase your Tobii EyeX here for just $99 (regular price $139) using the code “TheHunter”. With Tobii EyeX you’ll receive a special bundle in theHunter which includes a 14 day membership, 12 GA Pump Action Shotgun, Male Mallard Decoys, Waterfowl Blind and a Sneaky 3D Summer Swamp outfit.

Using traditional controls, you navigate the same as always, except now, as you look to the left of the environment so will your character – all without breaking stride. The technology is called ‘Infinite Screen’ as you are no longer restricted to the size of your monitor to explore the territory freely. As a player, you feel more immersed in your environment, and you have the ability to become more aware of your surroundings – an essential skill in theHunter.

“Once we saw the way our community responded to the implementation of ‘Infinite Screen’ technology in theHunter: Primal, we knew we had to bring eye tracking to theHunter as well” said Avalanche Studios CEO Pim Holfve. “Our goal with theHunter is to create the most realistic hunting simulator ever. Eye tracking provides one of the most immersive experiences available to gamers today. Combining the two was a no-brainer.”

“We’re very excited to expand our relationship with Avalanche Studios and Expansive Worlds” said Oscar Werner, Tobii Tech President. “Their desire to create wholly immersive experiences for their players is a testament to the gaming industry’s growing support of the unique features eye tracking enables. Avalanche Studios and Expansive Worlds have already created an incredible experience with theHunter and ‘Infinite Screen’. We can’t wait to see what they dream up next.”
