Poing, Germany 20 January 2014 – Avnet Memec, an Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) company, is focusing on connectivity solutions at this year’s Embedded World in Nuremburg, February 25th-27th. In its booth No. 128 in hall 4A, Avnet Memec will highlight different solutions and products enabling wired and wireless connectivity.

“Nowadays it’s all about connectivity, bringing objects, data, processes and people together. It’s not a vision anymore as the technologies enable us to interact between the digital and physical world. The so called Internet of Things is becoming reality,” stated Rainer Maier, Technical Sales Manager Germany, Avnet Memec.

In addition, Avnet Memec, together with its supplier partners, is showcasing the latest technology including power supply, energy measurement and signal chain. The booth is hosting three key presentation areas, including multi-supplier technology-focused demonstrations, a focus Internet of Things corner presenting solutions from Echelon, plus the dedicated "Maxim Integrated Tech Lounge."

The technology-focused area concentrates on the topics; Analog, MCU and ISM as well as Data Processing and Communication displaying products and solutions from Allegro MicroSystems, Applied Micro, Finisar, Intersil, Marvell, Microchip, Microsemi, Quectel, Renesas, Sierra Wireless, and Silicon Labs. Furthermore, Cirrus Logic, Coilcraft, PLX Technologies and Semtech will each feature a supplier partner focused station, presenting their product and solution range for power supply or energy management, for example.

In the Internet of Things corner, supported by Echelon, visitors can learn more about ‘Prototyping your application on the Raspberry Pi or Beagle Bone Black’ and ‘Productizing your application on Echelon silicon and modules.’

Once more at Embedded World 2014, Avnet Memec will exclusively host the Maxim Integrated Tech Lounge, a dedicated area where Maxim Integrated is showcasing several demonstrations for power supply, energy measurement and signal-chain applications. Among the demo highlights will be Maxim’s new family of synchronous high-voltage buck converters, which satisfies all requirements for industrial control designs; the compact MAX78700/MAX78615+LMU isolated energy measurement chipset with preloaded firmware, enabling designers to measure AC or DC power usage from any phase without the need for bulky sensors, optocouplers, or an extra power supply for the measurement subsystem; and, in the signal-chain area, the smallest reference design for IO-LinkTM smart industrial sensors.

Visitors will have the chance to meet engineers and experts from Avnet Memec and its partners in the booth throughout Embedded World 2014 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, hall 4A booth 128.
