Unique and region specific content available from the new Avnet Memec web presence
Poing, Germany, 18 March 2014 – Avnet Memec, an Avnet Inc, (NYSE:AVT) company, has unveiled its new state-of-the-art online presence. The new Avnet Memec website hosts a blog with unique content, easier access to vertical market data, information tailored to visitors’ country of origin and easier access to online purchasing.
“Just having a shop window website is no longer acceptable in our ever more connected world. Our customers expect to find relevant information quickly and respond or react to it instantly,” commented Tom Oelschlaeger, director of marketing communications. “Our new site allows users to navigate in as few clicks as possible, access unique content and become involved in discussions.”
By creating unique content on specific topics in their new “Tech Blog”, Avnet Memec will further strengthen its position as leading technical distributors across Europe. Moreover, over the course of time, guest bloggers will be invited to contribute their expertise and both customers and staff members will be encouraged to have fruitful discussions. The first blog topics will be:

Avnet Memec’s new web presence will also host a microsite dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). The one stop shop will build on Avnet Memec’s product and market knowledge by highlighting capabilities across the entire system from component and protocol level up to application level.
Additionally, the advance in internet tools is enabling Avnet Memec to offer visitors more relevant content tailored to their country of origin. Information such as vertical market materials, local seminar dates and region specific line cards will be presented to visitors who can then change their settings if required.
Another major enhancement is the improved integration of Avnet Express. A quick component availability check will be available for a wider variety of products through the Avnet Express channel, enabling online orders for customers of all sizes.
