Avon Protection has been awarded full approval for CE Marking for its single use compact and portable escape hood which is designed for emergency escape and evacuation from areas contaminated by chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) agents.

The NH15 is the smallest, lightest weight escape hood available, specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the NIOSH CBRN Air-Purifying Escape Respirator (APER) Standard, now also carries an Article 10 type –examination approval to BS8468-3.2:2009 type-1, under the PPE Directive 89/686/EEC for CE marking.

The twin filter, single use hood covers the head and neck allowing the user to safely breathe ambient air. It gives critical CBRN respiratory protection within 30 seconds of opening the protective packaging and donning the reflective hood, and provides the wearer with respiratory, vision and facial CBRN protection for a minimum 15 minutes.

The CBRN escape hood incorporates twin low-profile filters on a unique space-saving hinge system, reducing breathing resistance and assisting the wearer when undertaking physical exertion.

Suitable and affordable for military, law enforcement and first responder personnel seeking immediate or emergency respiratory protection in a CBRN scenario, the NH15 has a 5 year shelf life, requires no annual testing and is maintenance free.
