ADVANCED WEATHER APP HELPS AIRLINES AVOID SEVERE WEATHER, SAVE COST AND IMPROVE EFFICIENCY

AVTECH SWEDEN AB (publ), Stockholm, June 26th 2018 – AVTECH Sweden AB recently released Aventus SIGMA tablet APP v 1.0. The Aventus SIGMA service is receiving curated weather from Met Office (UK), which predicts turbulence with a very precise accuracy.
Met Office model looks at every 10km, all around the globe (compared to standard within 140km).
Aventus SIGMA is AVTECH’s latest service released to the aviation market.
Whilst on the ground the pilot is served with a clear picture of severe weather e.g. turbulence, icing and volcanic ash, that can affect the flight. The service includes live updates in flight, making sure the Flight Crew receives information on areas of turbulence, for example.
With access to one of the most advanced forecasts available on turbulence, icing, departure and arrival weather, more qualified decisions can be made that can allow mistakes to be avoided.

“Feed-back from active line-pilots reveals that both accuracy of the weather forecasts and design functions are excellent”, said Niklaes Persson, Head of R&D, AVTECH. “More importantly, the pilots can enter route- and flight details of his or her particular flight and then receive the most accurate wind- and turbulence information available in the world.”

Aventus services - including the new SIGMA tablet APP

• Aventus SIGMA APP - iOS tablet APP gives flight crew a graphical view of hazardous weather as well as high-resolution wind and temperature for the planned flight
• Aventus NowCast – Worlds leading wind uplink service for connected aircraft - Gives reduced fuel burn and a reduced carbon footprint

The SIGMA tablet APP can either complement the Aventus Services or be used as a standalone application
