The Board of AVTECH Sweden AB (publ) communicates the following business update.

Norwegian is now using AVTECH’s new Cruise Profile Optimizer service throughout the airlines entire B737NG fleet, reducing CO2 emissions by 10,000 - 15,000 tons per year.

During 2019, AVTECH and Norwegian have performed a trial with the new Cruise Profile Optimizer service, which has shown an additional saving of between 10,000 and 15,000 tons of CO2 per year in Norwegians operations. The service has now been deployed to all Norwegians 737NG aircraft as an upgrade within the existing service agreement.

This upgrade within the current agreement has no financial impact for AVTECH. However, this means that Norwegian as a first important development and reference customer will provide support in marketing the service.

Since 2018, Norwegian has been a user of AVTECH's AVENTUS Air wind-uplinks. The new Cruise Profile Optimizer is a more advanced development of AVENTUS Air that takes additional factors into account when optimizing the flight for fuel and CO2 savings. Advanced weather data from the UK Met Office and the performance of the aircraft forms the basis for optimizing each individual flight.

“It is fantastic to see that our development work with Norwegian continues to result in new and innovative solutions with highly positive environmental- and cost-saving benefits. We look forward to a continued good cooperation and more airlines taking advantage of this savings potential,” says David Rytter, CEO of AVTECH Sweden AB.
