Axel Johnson International acquires bearings and transmission specialists Berkshire Bearings
The complementary acquisition of Berkshire Bearings strengthens the geographic presence and branch network in the UK of Acorn Industrial Services, a company within Axel Johnson International’s business group AxIndustries.
Acorn Industrial Services is a major stockist of bearings, linear motion systems, power transmission products and maintenance equipment. Headquartered in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the company today has 100 employees and 9 sales branches throughout the UK. The company was acquired by Axel Johnson International in December of 2015.
Berkshire Bearings in Newbury is a small, well-kept family run operation renowned for its knowledgeable and experienced staff and longstanding relations to customers in the region. The company provides an excellent fit with the products and offerings of Acorn Industrial Services. The sales branch in Newbury, approximately 100 km west of London, is also a much-needed geographic complement to Acorn Industrial Services’ branch network in the South of the UK.
The acquisition will be concluded during December 2016.
