Axel Johnson International’s Industrial Solutions business group is increasing its market presence in the Netherlands through the acquisition of MAK Aandrijvingen B.V., effective May 2. MAK, located in Lelystad, provides power transmission solutions including chains, belts, motors and reducers to OEM customers.

“As a value-adding distributor for leading OEM’s, MAK has developed a strong niche position,” says Ola Sjölin, Managing Director Industrial Solutions. “MAK will be a great addition to our existing business in the Dutch market and an important piece in our ambition to continue grow within the mechanical power transmission segment. I look forward to developing MAK together with the existing management.”

With roots dating back to 1926, MAK is a well-established supplier of power transmission technology in the Dutch market. MAK’s competitive edge is based on a high service level and its ability to provide optimised transmission solutions. It is the result of an efficient logistic set, close supplier partnerships and quality products in combination with technical expertise. With 36 employees, MAK’s total annual sales are approximately EUR 15 million.

“Joining Axel Johnson International presents a very good opportunity for us at MAK to continue to grow our business,” says Gerard Klinkhamer, MD of MAK, which will continue to operate as an independent company within the Industrial Solutions business group. “I am looking forward to collaborating in key areas with other companies in the group.”
