Axel Johnson International acquires Egil Verne, Norwegian distributor of vehicle components
Axel Johnson International’s Transport Solutions business group is strengthening its position in the Norwegian market for commercial vehicle components by acquiring Egil Verne AS, effective March 1. With approximately NOK 100 million in sales and 15 employees, Verne is a leading distributor of vehicle components in Norway, focusing on lighting and electrical vehicle components.
“With Verne in our group, we will be one of the leading distributors of vehicle components in Scandinavia. Together, we will be able to offer our customers a more comprehensive product range,” says Erik Eklöv, Managing Director of Transport Solutions. “Verne has a long-term relationship with its customers and suppliers and is a well-managed company that will fit well into our organisation.”
Verne was established in 1950 and is a well-known brand in Norway. Arno Berg acquired the company in 1992. Arno Berg will continue as CEO and remain a minority shareholder of the company.

The Transport Solutions business group comprises leading European providers of cargo securing solutions and vehicle components. It includes ABKATI, Eigenbrodt, Sternhammar, TMT. Malinen, Trailerkomponenter, Widni, Forankra group and allsafe, with total sales of EUR 150 million in 2017.
