Axel Johnson International acquires TMT. Malinen
Axel Johnson International’s Transport Solutions business group is strengthening its position in the Nordic market for commercial vehicle components by acquiring TMT. Malinen Oy, effective January 2. With EUR 13 million in sales, TMT. Malinen is the region’s market leading manufacturer and distributor of aluminium, steel, and plastics components and systems for the body builder industry.
“Our ambition is to grow our presence in the transport market throughout Europe, and we look forward to doing that together with the TMT. Malinen team,” says Erik Eklöv, Managing Director of Transport Solutions. “TMT. Malinen offers a great complement to our existing vehicle components business and is a well-managed company that will fit well into our organisation.”
TMT. Malinen has a market presence in Finland, Sweden and Baltics plus some minor exports. Its headquarters are located in Lahti, Finland. The group has approximately 50 employees in three companies: TMT. Malinen Oy (Lahti), Trailerkomponenter AB (Mjölby) and TMT. Malinen Baltic Oü (Tallinn).
The company was established in 1958 by Toivo Malinen. Today, the second and third generations of the Malinen family are active in the company and will continue to lead the businesses going forward.
