Axel Johnson International expands Polish cargo securing business
Axel Johnson International’s Transport Solutions business group is strengthening its position in the Polish market for lifting and cargo securing by acquiring IWRC Sp. z o.o. The acquisition was completed on January 3.
IWRC sells commercial wire rope to distributors and lifting & lashing products to distributors and end-users. They also provide maintenance and technical consulting from their base in Włocławek.
Founded in 2012, IWRC had sales of PLN 2.5 million in 2017 and strong growth in 2018. It will become part of Forankra Poland, a fast-growing member of the Transport Solutions group.
“We are very pleased that the two founders, Przemyslaw Banas and Mariusz Minta, have agreed to continue in their positions and continue to develop the business with Forankra Poland,” says Transport Solutions Group MD Erik Eklöv. “Their 25 years of experience is the key to IWRC’s rapid success and good reputation.”
Forankra Poland’s Managing Director, Maciej Nowoswiecki, sees great opportunities for both companies. “IWRC will increase Forankra Poland’s ability to develop end-user sales and wire rope sales on the Polish market,” he says. “Forankra Poland, on the other hand, will give IWRC access to a larger assortment of steel wire rope and lifting equipment as well as an extensive sourcing network.”
This acquisition is part of Transport Solutions’ strategy for growth in the Polish market. Poland is one of Europe’s most successful economies, where ongoing investments in construction and infrastructure projects have created demand for quality products in lifting and cargo securing.
