Axel Johnson International’s Fluid Handling Solutions business group, AxFlow, has acquired VIP Tehnika, effective 26 April. VIP Tehnika is a Slovenian service and distribution company of centrifugal pumps, serving many of its neighboring countries in the Balkan region.

Located in Maribor, Slovenia, VIP Tehnika provides a second base for AxFlow to grow its operations in the Balkans, mainly in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, as well as in Austria.

“The acquisition is a strategic move that enables a synergistic approach for both companies and enables AxFlow Austria to expand its geographical presence and for both operations to offer existing and potential customers a greater range of products and support services.” says Ole Weiner, CEO, AxFlow Holding.

Founded in 1991, VIP Tehnika operates mainly in the water and wastewater market but also in food and beverage, industrial and chemical sectors. Its main activities cover sales, installation, commissioning, pump repairs, assembly and system integration. A further significant offering is its capabilities to design and manufacture small pump systems. Pump servicing and repairs can be provided both on-site as well as in the company’s own state-of-the-art service centre and stock management facility.

Božo Himelrajh, Managing Director and founder of VIP Tehnika comments on the acquisition:
”For us, this acquisition means a new challenge, access to new technical knowledge and new business connections. We also see possibilities of selling our products in new markets outside of the Balkans and learning new market approaches from the best.’’
