Axfood’s Annual and Sustainability Report 2021 has been published and is now available on the Group’s website.

– As we now put 2021 behind, I can confidently say that the past year has probably been the most intense and exceptional year in Axfood’s history. Despite operating in the midst of a pandemic, with restrictions and a number of upheavals, we strengthened our market positions and implemented major structural changes that are increasing our competitiveness. The developments we are now implementing are creating the prerequisites for long-term, profitable and sustainable growth, says Klas Balkow, President and CEO, in the CEO’s message.

Within sustainability, Axfood’s ambition is to take the lead in promoting a sustainable food system that takes a stance, inspires and offers guidance for affordable, good and sustainable food. With the Annual and Sustainability Report 2021, reporting of the Group’s sustainability work is further developed. A sustainability report is presented in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines, but as a first this year, the report has also been reviewed by Axfood’s auditors. In addition, the extent to which the Group’s operations are covered by the EU taxonomy regulation has now been added to the reporting in an overview, as well as a section covering climate-related financial risks and opportunities.

Axfood continuously strives to reduce the company’s environmental impact, and as part of this work, the Annual and Sustainability Report is only made available in the digital format.
