Axfood's sales January-July 2002

Consolidated net sales* (excluding VAT) for the month of July totalled SEK 2,803 m (2,726), an increase of 2.8% compared with the same period a year ago. For stores owned by the Group, the increase was 11.6% for the month.

Net sales for the period January-July 2002 totalled SEK 19,000 m (18,464), an
increase of 2.9%. For stores owned by the Group, the increase was 10.6% in
Sweden, of which same stores accounted for 3.9%.
Of total sales, the Swedish operations accounted for SEK 15,736 m (15,190) and
Spar Finland for SEK 3,264 m (3,274).

Hemköp´s sales fell by 2.0%. The decrease for same stores was 2.0%.
Willys grew its sales by 23.8%, of which same stores accounted for 8.5
percentage points.
Willys Hemma grew its sales by 5.1%. The decrease for same stores was 7.5%.
Spar Finland´s sales fell by 0.3% and in local currency a decrease by 1.2%. For
comparable stores owned by the Group the decrease was 1.2%.
