Axfood’s sales rises by 2.8 percent in August

Net sales* (excluding VAT) for stores in Sweden owned by the Group increased by 2.8% for the month of August, with a 0.5% rise in like-for-like sales. Consolidated net sales totalled SEK 2,492 m (2,422), an increase of 2.9% compared with the same period a year ago.

Sales for the period January-August 2006 rose 5.3%, with a 0.9% rise in like-for-like sales. Consolidated net sales totalled SEK 19,084 m (18,448), an increase of 3.4%. Hemköp’s sales decreased by 6.4% during the month, with a 1.3% increase in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales decreased by 5.1%, with a 0.3% increase in like-for-like sales. Willys’ sales increased by 7.8% during the month, with a 0.1% rise in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales increased by 11.4%, with a 1.3% rise in like-for-like sales. Willys hemma’s sales decreased by 4.8% during the month, with a 1.8% decrease in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales decreased by 4.4%, with a 3.7% decrease in like-for-like sales.
