Hemköp to open in Lännersta and Saltsjöbaden

Early next year Hemköp will be opening two new stores in the Stockholm area, when the Willys stores in Lännersta and Saltsjöbaden are both converted to Hemköp franchises.

"We have recently begun the work on developing Sweden's best grocery stores, and the addition of two more stores in the Stockholm area will help us along the way," says Per Uebel, President of Hemköpskedjan AB. "Moreover, our ability to also choose the form of operation for our stores is a strength we have over our competitors."

Hemköp aspires to be the preferred store for food enthusiasts. Its stores offer a breadth and depth of products and are designed to offer customers the greatest ease in doing healthy and wholesome shopping.

The stores in Lännersta and Saltsjöbaden currently have 2,500 and 1,500 sq. m. of retail space, respectively. Tom Strand will be the proprietor of both stores.

"It will be greatly inspiring to run Hemköp's Lännersta and Saltsjöbaden stores," says Strand. "I am convinced that the Hemköp concept will appeal to customers in both of these areas."

The employees of both stores will be offered to transfer to the new company.
